Specialising in chemicals, environment and climate and energy policy, James leads Rud Pedersen in Brussels.
As Managing Partner, James has built the Brussels office from the ground up. Opening in 2018, James has established an integrated team with experience across industry, politics, the NGO sector and the media. James has two decades of experience supporting both corporations and industry bodies in their government relations, public affairs and communications activities in Brussels and Washington D.C. and leading campaigns that combine direct advocacy on regulatory files with broader public affairs tools such as paid, earned, shared and owned media and third-party mobilisation. Recent projects include: supporting the development of a multi-annual advocacy campaign for the metals sector, developing the manifesto of an industry in the automotive value chain, building a coalition of corporates and NGOs on climate and industrial policy.
Before joining Rud Pedersen, James was a Senior Partner at international consulting firm FleishmanHillard. James was previously Chair, EU Committee at the British Chamber of Commerce in Brussels, where he remains an active member.
James has been named by his peers as European Public Affairs Practitioner of the Year.
